The one of the wildest and most innovative trail runners out there just stepped it up again, with the HOKA Tecton X 3 in Stormy Skies/Cerise elite race day shoe, redesigned from the ground up for better grip, improved fit and more speed.

Just like its predecessor, the HOKA Tecton X3 features parallel carbon plates through the midsole to give you stability and energy return, but now the midsole has been upgraded to use pinnacle PEBA foam. A softer compound on the top provides a comfortable underfoot feel, while firmer foam nearer the ground adds stability as well as lightness and speed. That unusual looking upper features a built-in knit gaiter to help prevent debris from entering your shoe, as well as adding lightweight support around the ankle. The upper is made from a hydrophobic and durable material designed for performance racing. In the outsole a new lug orientation and shape provides enhanced traction, and the Vibram Litebase has been used to help keep the weight down to a minimum. A new wrap around shape to the outsole better protects the midsole, increasing durability so that you can keep on racing further.
